Dear David Callinan

I read this paragraph about David

"Born into a family from Limerick in the west of Ireland, world traveled but now settled in the UK. Author of ‘Fortress Manhattan’ and ‘10 Minute Miracle’, I have two books coming out with Ocean House Press ‘Face Lift’ and ‘Bodyswitch’. I played in bands such as Urban Clearway and toured with the early Elton John trio, Rod Stewart and Billy Connolly. Years ago I wrote a Celtic rock musical starring Pierce Brosnan. I also edit magazines and still perform sometimes."

Along time ago I arrived here and left a comment. And now I've had a chance to look through your website and read a little more about you. MUst have been busy then. In any regard you've got a pretty impressive bio here.

To have (4) Semi Finals and three (3) Commended is a "HUGE" reward or "TALL STORY" I cannot comment on the songs because I have not heard them. I think thats why people open a myspace account. Your right it is a lot of commenting and it seems it works better for the established artists and it probably does but it seems to give others a chance to get some feed back and see what different people tell you. The odd time you'll get vaque comments back because of various reasons like people are busy with other things but sometimes your'll get a good following and it will give you a chance to see how your songs stands up against the opinions of others and some are pretty reputable and musical people. And it may shed some light on what you can improve when you compare them with songs that are high in ranking or to people particular tastes. I think thats a value in of it's self.
There are pros and cons. Thats the hard part.

Pretty impressive bio David. I think playing in though bands and having those incredible opportunities you learned something great but writing that song is a technique and skill that still takes some individual skills. In any event it's a great start and I wish you the best and perhaps one day David you will be a Finalist or winner. Great Contest!!!!

Cheers

Don't have a website yet.
Did years ago. Congrats. Sounds like you are on the way. Thats great.
I had a Commended and "1" Semi Finals. Did you ever research what the
Semi's don't have that the Finalists or Winning tunes do? I guess in your case you could get radio play or newspaper attention. Congradulations
